If you have not yet heard the scenario it goes something like this:

"Well, hopeful applicant, I see you have a very nice GPA (say 3.5 +/-) but what kind of experience do you have for the position for which you are applying?"

Or,

"We have lots of applicants that have that GPA or even higher, in what extra-curricular positions of responsibility have you participated?"

Hopeful applicant responds, "Well, um . . . er . . . (you're not ready for this question, you've assumed your GPA would be sufficient for a position within your major, NOT) well, I don't, I've been in college for four years."

Human Resource/Admissions officer, "Oh, hmmm, I see, well . . . we're looking for someone with experience . . . . "

In today's market, Admissions Officers and Human Resource personnel are also looking for community service (especially with children) volunteer activities.

(We can give you this experience as well)

Like it or not, experience in these two areas are arguably the determining factors in your success!
